1Correct head roll and set a midline
2Mirror predefined landmark pairs
3Normalize differences by face width

What does facial symmetry mean here?

Face Atlas compares predefined left-right landmark pairs after correcting head roll. The distance from mirrored positions is divided by visible face width so the result is comparable within the same measurement model.

Eyes

Inner, outer, upper and lower eye contour pairs.

Brows

Three corresponding eyebrow landmark pairs.

Nose

Two visible nasal-base landmark pairs.

Mouth

Mouth corners and corresponding lip-area pairs.

Jaw

Three corresponding lower-face landmark pairs.

What the difference score means

The classifications use broad product thresholds. They are not population percentiles and do not rank one face above another.

Is any face perfectly symmetrical?

Small differences between the left and right sides are common. This test measures landmark positions in one photo and reports where they differ.

How is the midline placed?

After correcting for head roll, the tool places the midline through the midpoint of the two cheek-side landmarks.

Why can lighting affect the result?

Strong shadow, blur or obstruction can make landmarks less reliable. The tool rejects severe quality problems instead of assigning a score.

Is this an attractiveness score?

No. The result is a normalized landmark difference with a broad product classification. It does not rate attractiveness.
